My coach gave the group a challenge to make outgoing calls each day. Every day. Even on Saturday and Sunday we were supposed to make those calls. Hmmmph…that didn’t sit too well with me. That’s my weekend. However, if I didn’t do it, I would lose the challenge and be out of the running to win. I like to win. If I didn’t make the calls, I’d be cheating myself. I made the calls.
One of my members of my BRILLIANCE Coaching Program ™ was involved in one of the challenges I had set up for the members of the group. She asked another member’s opinion if she needed to make the calls required that day since she was in a training class. One response given to her was that she had already connected with some people that day so she should be covered. She could have stopped there and not taken any additional action. But, my response was for her to make the calls. There were other people that she needed to reach out to – if she didn’t, she would just be cheating herself. Especially, since right in the venue, there was the potential for some contacts and future business that she hadn’t even tapped into. Once I opened her eyes to that opportunity, she was on it faster than a snap of the finger. That’s why she’s going to have amazing continued successes in her business.
Where are you cheating?
-Are you networking full out?
-Are you making the calls you need to make?
-Are you creating the best programs/products possible to help your clients?
-Are you accepting and going after the best opportunities?
-Are you getting the best support you need to grow your business?
When you cheat yourself, you’re not playing to win…you’re playing not to fail. Those are two very different things. One is coming from a strong, confident place and one is trying to maintain.
Want to know whether you’re a cheater or not? Look at your results. If your results in your business are phenomenal then you are playing to win – you are not a cheater.
If your results are up and down…good months and bad months, you are playing it not to lose. You are playing it small and you are only cheating yourself.
Now, if you fall in the second category, I could leave it at that and say you are only cheating yourself. But, the truth is it is much bigger. You are also cheating all of the people who are meant to work with you and buy your services/products. These are the people who desperately need what you have to offer. If you play it small, they’ll never find (out about) you. They will never get the results that they really and truly need. If you won’t do it for yourself, maybe you will start to do it for them.
