Early Bird Tickets Available! Save $700Yes! I want to GO!!!

It was a beautiful sunny Sunday and we were making plans for the afternoon.  Lots of choices, one of which was kayaking on the beautiful bay near us.  My response was, “I’d love to go canoeing – it would be fun, but…I haven’t canoed in years”.   I think deep down, I might have been happy if we didn’t go. I wasn’t feeling overly confident about kayaking since the water was very wavy and a bit scary to me.    The thought of capsizing was not very appealing to me.

Thank goodness I didn’t listen to my inner voice’s “but”.  I would have missed out on one of the nicest and most fun days in one of the prettiest bays I have ever seen.

How many times have your said or thought this:  “I’d like to do this, but…” or  “This would be great to do, but…” or “I would have done it, but…”

Do you see the common denominator?  Your  big “but” is getting in the way.   There’s always a reason for you not doing something that you want to do…or think you want to do.   As a result of you not doing these things, things don’t change for you or your business.  Those goals and dreams you aspire to are getting farther and farther away from reach.

Here are some of the biggest reasons your “but(t)” is in the way.

  1. It’ uncomfortable for you to get out of your comfort zone.  You may not like how things are, but you are used to it.  Deep down, change is scary.
  2. You don’t know how to do something and that lack of knowledge makes you feel uncomfortable to try something
  3. You’re afraid of failing.  You don’t want to look “bad” in other people’s eyes.  And, of course, you’re probably your own worst critic with that inner voice always commenting on everything you do wrong.
  4. There are lots of lots of other reasons, but for this blog purpose, I’m sharing a few of them.

Here are 3 Success Tips to help shrink your but(t):

  1. Exercise!  Ok, I couldn’t resist suggesting that  😀
  2. If you’re uncomfortable getting out of your comfort zone,  make a list of other times you have gotten out of your comfort zone and everything worked out fine for you.  It’s important to recognize that you have done something similar in the past.
  3. If you’re not sure how to do something, you have several options.
    1. Ask your coach/mentor how to do it
    2. Ask your accountability buddy or a trusted source how to do it
    3. Hire someone who knows how to do it
    4. The fear of failure can easily stop you in your tracks.   This is often due to something you experienced in your past.  Maybe you’ve tried to start a business in the past and it failed and you’re afraid you’ll fail again.  Or perhaps, you were given a message when you were a child from your parents or teachers about risk-taking being bad.   There can be all sorts of reasons.

These “buts” can stop you from reaching your dreams.  Are you tired of your “but” getting in the way ?  If you don’t know how to eliminate your “but”, you and your business will be stuck forever.   If you’re feeling stuck, come to the Ultimate Success Solutions Workshop on October 26 & 27.  Here’s a link to for more information and to get your Early Bird Ticket : http://www.successcoachingwithKate.com/uss
