Want to make more money?  Shhh…I’ve got a secret and I’m going to share it with you.  All you need to do is is go out and sell.  Seriously!  20163347_sNothing more is required.

Sounds so basic but this is where most entrepreneurs get stuck.  After all, you didn’t start your own business to be a salesperson, right?  Most likely, when you think of sales you’re thinking of a “used car salesman” which is bringing up all sorts of negative connotations in your mind.

The fastest path to cash is to pick up the phone and have that conversation.    Yet, most entrepreneurs would rather do anything but.

How about you?  Are you finding other things to do such as re-do your website, write a blog, post on social media, call a friend…..?

When is the last time you had that call?  According to averages, if you want one new client a month, you need to have 3 sales conversations to get one “yes“.  Are you making those three calls each month?  

If not, are any of these holding you back?

– They might say “no”?

– They might not be my ideal client?

– Not sure what to say?

– Don’t know how to deal with objections?

-Don’t know who to have calls with?

-Don’t want to feel stupid? 

-Don’t want to get rejected?

-Don’t have the time?

Like anything, there is an art to the sales call where there are certain steps, questions and a flow.  Also, like anything “practice makes perfect“.   The more you do it, the easier it becomes.

I also get that it’s much easier to play it safe and stay in your comfort zone.  However,  playing it safe won’t bring you the clients you need.

Here are a few action steps to get your started:

1.  Block off time on your schedule to have these calls

2.  Have your list of questions in front of you when you talk on the phone

3.  Practice with a friend so you’re more comfortable dealing with objections

4.  Be in a great “headspace” before making that call so you don’t have any distractions
