I have to confess, I wasn’t looking forward to 2013. The number thirteen has always meant “bad luck” to me. Hotels skip that floor number and airplanes skip that row number. What did 2013 have in store for me? 2012 was an amazing year – I even liked saying “twenty twelve”. Will it all go downhill after that?
In 2012, my coach had been pushing for my “Big Idea” – something that would set my business on fire even more. The more I tried to come up with my “Big Idea” the less creative I felt. It’s like pushing against a wall. And, I’m 5’2” and petite. Yikes, I couldn’t push that wall no matter how hard I tried. So, I did what I tell my clients to do. I put this concept on the “back burner” and focused on some other things, trusting that the answer would come to me when I needed it. It did.
My “Big Idea” is that I don’t want to follow the crowd, to be a “Barbie Doll” coach, doing things the way they are “supposed” to be done. That’s what’s expected at the level I am at. Instead, I want to get my ideas out in the way that feels best to me. The way that will help my clients the best. I see so many entrepreneurs caught up with trying to imitate other entrepreneurs. The problem is that what they’re doing often isn’t right for them, their personality, their lifestyle or their dreams and goals. As a result, they don’t have the success they want.
One of the biggest things I can teach you this year is to really understand what Success means to you. If I asked 10 different Entrepreneurs that question, I would get 10 different answers. What success means to me is not necessarily what it will mean to you. My BIG IDEA is to help you really understand what it is you want out of your business and help you clear out those obstacles. These are the obstacles that are in your way and stopping you from reaching your dreams.
Next, we get you into “right action” so you get what you want. By “right” action, I mean what is “right” exactly for you.
I have the expertise and knowledge to quickly access where my clients are and get them going in the best and fastest way possible.
I thought back to why I started my business. It was because there was something I was so incredibly passionate about. I couldn’t live my dream in the corporate world with all of the rules. This is about it being MY journey.
“I took the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” ~ Robert Frost
Are you also tired of following the crowd and not getting the results you want? My mantra this year is to do what “honors me”. One of things I say most often to the entrepreneurs I work with is that “the point of the journey is to be happy while you’re on it”. After all, what good is the journey if you’re overwhelmed, stressed, frustrated, or disappointed and have no time for fun?
I take pride that my clients make huge lasting shifts within themselves and their business. I take pride that their businesses grow exponentially from our work together. I love how my clients are quickly able to help so many more people make positive changes. That’s what it’s all about. So what if I do it differently than the other coaches? Who cares? I don’t anymore!
Is it a bit scary? Sure, it is. But, it’s scarier to not do it this way. That’s what makes this exciting.
If you want to take your business to the next level, do it in a way that feels authentic to you and is full of integrity, then let’s find a way to work together. Join me. Hi Kate,
Like you, I’m coming to discover that, as Frost’s beautiful poem states, taking the road less traveled by truly does make all the difference. It allows us to live in a place of open-hearted authenticity that feels fabulous rather than forced. Oh sure, it can be scary, too, but I’m slowly learning that going against the grain has so many abundant rewards, both as an entrepreneur and on a personal level. I love your statement about “What honors me?” It allows us to stay both curious and positive, and to follow our hearts in a way that feels really good to us while attracting others who resonate with that philosophy!
Thanks for such a great perspective. Here’s to taking the road less traveled!
Hugs,
Kim
