Happy Thanksgiving to all of us in the U.S. My favorite holiday with a lot to be grateful for. Including yesterday’s travel to see my family.
Here’s my gratitude list from yesterday, the busiest travel day of the year!
1. I was booked on the train to visit family when most of the flights out of Boston were delayed due to bad weather
2. On the busiest travel day of the year, I had an empty seat next to me in business class so I could spread out, relax and enjoy the ride
3. A tree fell across the tracks delaying us for one hour but luckily no one was hurt
4. I missed my connecting train by 4 minutes but was able to get a seat on the next train when “technically” there weren’t any seats available
5. Right after my train left Penn Station in NY, another train derailed causing a massive disruption in service (basically creating a mess) for thousands of travelers.
6. I got to see my parents and had a delicious home cooked dinner waiting for me! (My Mom’s a gourmet cook!)
I made a very conscious decision to look on the bright side instead of focusing on the other stuff. What are you grateful for?
