Have you seen those diagrams on various Facebook posts that show the path of success looking like a crazy curly-q, going all around instead of going straight up?  The point of it is to show the readers that even though you expect success to be a straightforward path and it’s actually up and down.

I disagree.

What if it is straight up?

What if it is straight up and you don’t know how to see it that way?

When I look at that crazy diagram, it stresses me out a bit and makes me feel that my success is not within my control.  I like knowing that I can set intentions and manifest what I want in my life.  This drawing doesn’t align with my beliefs.

Here’s I believe success should look.  It will be a straight path as long as you have clarity on your goals and stay in aligned action and continue to believe in yourself.

Let me share an example.  Let’s say you make a cold call and it goes ok, but you don’t get the client.  Many people would look at that as a failure – hence, the path of success dropping down.  How I see it is that you took action that was required.  You got out of your Comfort Zone and took action that needed to happen.

Maybe you’re not comfortable with cold calls, so this was a big step for you. Perhaps you did the best you could with your current skill set.  If you choose to look at the positive side, you will see this as a success and that you are moving forward – onward and upward.

What if you chose to celebrate each action forward?
What if you chose to celebrate you?

If you’ve ever attended one of my events or been a client of mine, you’ll remember that I love to celebrate.  Each celebration – whether it is big or small, leads to the next.

Do you need to learn how to improve your skill set on these different actions that you are taking to get different results?  Absolutely!  I believe both the mindset and strategies go hand in hand with making your dreams come true.

However, if you’re always focusing on the things that aren’t going well, your self-confidence will drop, and you’re less likely to be successful.

It’s all in your mindset how you see your path to success.  What do you see?
