Whenever I go to networking events (which is quite often) I always get people’s interest up when I talk about money.  Especially, when I talk about charging what you’re worth.  That’s when the conversations really start flowing.  And the complaints!

nervous womanHere’s what they tell me happens.  Do any of these scenarios sound familiar to you?

1)    You change the subject when someone asks you “how much you charge”?

2)     You immediately offer someone a discount

3)    You haven’t raised your rates in years

4)    You over give your time when working with clients

If you do any of those things, do you then tell yourself:

1)    The money’s not important – I’m here to help and heal people

2)     This person can’t afford my services so I’m going to offer a discount to get them as a client

3)    I can’t raise my rates in this economy

4)    This person needs my help.  I can’t watch the clock

So, here’s the deal.  If you’re saying those things to yourself, ultimately, you’re going to become frustrated, annoyed, depleted, sad, angry, resentful and stressed (maybe even a bit depressed) because you’re not recognizing your own value.   If you don’t recognize your own value, how can you expect others to?

Everything you do and think comes back to you.  You are a mirror and magnet for your life (and business experiences).  If you don’t believe you can raise your rates in this economy, then guess what?  You’re right.

The problem is that deep down this is most likely bothering you.  No matter how much you try to pretend it doesn’t – or try to ignore those feelings, they’re there!    If you’re not paying attention to your emotions (those negative feelings), what is your body saying to you?

Have you noticed:

1)    You’ve gained (or lost ) weight?

2)    You’re not sleeping well (either it’s hard to fall asleep or you wake up in the middle of the night tossing and turning)?

3)    You’re getting neck and back pains?

4)    Headaches?

5)    Grinding your teeth?

Right now, I’m going to ask you to make a decision.  Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy?  The choice is yours.  There is a wayrainingmoney to come from a place of service and charge what you’re worth.   I teach that to all of my clients.

Here’s an important action step to get you started.

Think about all of the times and ways you’ve helped your clients and make a list.  The next time someone asks you “how much you charge”, remember your list

If you’d like to get additional support with this problem to be able to handle it from a place of confidence and get paid what you’re worth, let’s set up a time to connect.   During this complimentary 30 minute session ($300 value), we’ll uncover what beliefs are blocking you and what action you need to take to be able to confidently talk about money.
