I’ll bet when you started your business you thought the money and clients/customers would come pretty quickly. Right? You had your certifications/degrees …got your business cards, put up a website and started writing your ezine.

Then you waited for the clients to come.

Somewhere along the line, they didn’t show up they way you thought they would. When they did appear, they were often looking for discounts and didn’t recognize your value. Your frustration started setting in.

Often, you’d attract people who wanted to work with you but they had no money. Or else, they would say they would work with you, but then they had an emergency pop-up, no longer could afford your services and had to cancel. You needed clients…you needed money and started working with all sorts of people. But these people weren’t your ideal clients. They showed up late, they expected more of your time than they had paid for, they would pay you late, and they complained a lot.

But you needed the money. So, you bit your tongue, didn’t say anything and continued to work with them. Giving up your nights and weekends to stay on top of everything. You missed time away from your family and friends. You gave up your “fun” time. You’d get up early and work…or work until midnight…or maybe both. Vacations were a thing of the past. You saw others having a better quality of life so you figured if you kept doing this long enough, you would, too.

Years go by and you’re still in the same place. Dissatisfied, unhappy and stressed out. You don’t sleep very well, you have neck and shoulder pains and your weight has gone up. This isn’t why you started your business.
