Cali's Birthday Sale - Kate Beeders

Cali, my amazing Cairn terrier is going to be 9 years old on Monday. I don’t know where the time went. It seems like just yesterday, that my nieces (I’m a favorite Aunt) talked me into getting a dog because their mother wouldn’t let them get one. I did my research and decided on a breed. A few months later, when she was 8 weeks old and just 2 pounds, she cried and cried the entire 2-hour drive home. All I could think was this will never work.

But, by the time we got home, she was in my heart. She’s stayed there – even when she’s chewed my shoes and dragged a roll of toilet paper all over my home (I couldn’t get mad because I couldn’t stop laughing).

Everyone who meets Cali loves her instantly. She’s friendly, sweet, tons of personality and a beautiful dog. Imagine at 10 weeks old, my horror to discover that she had a very rare disease and the veterinarians weren’t sure if she would make it to a year old. As you can imagine, it was a year filled with lots of visits to the Vet and lots of tears (mine).

Thankfully, due to wonderful medical care and lots of love she overcame this very serious health issue. We had a big birthday party to celebrate (and thank the staff at the Vets). Since then, I’ve continued to celebrate her birthday.
