Your book is overdue.  Return that story to the library.  To avoid a fine, you must return that book today!  8898156_s

Recently, I had a conversation with someone who desperately wanted to reach her dreams for her business but was feeling so discouraged.

In fact, she told me that the dreams she had for herself today, were much smaller than the dreams she had 10 years ago.  Speaking to this woman at a networking event, there was part of me that wanted to console her.  To say, “don’t worry, you’ll be fine”.

The smarter, wiser part of me, knew that would be of disservice to her.  As she was really choosing to live her life that way.  Her life had become a collection of short stories of failure.  That’s all she could see.  She had made that her story.  In fact, she believed this as strongly as she believed something reported on the news.  There was no other option for her.

Then she told me that she didn’t think it was possible to have success (make money) and be a good person.  She believed there had to be a trade-off so that she would need to give up something good in order to gain this.

No wonder things weren’t turning around for her.  She is so stuck in her story and her beliefs.

The best thing I could do for her was to not buy into her story.  To know that she could change.  She could choose something different.

Are you living your life that way?  Do you believe that you are destined to always live your life a certain way.   Whatever you believe, you’re right.  If you choose to change, you can create what you want.

I have a really important question to ask you.  Go somewhere quiet with a pen and paper and write down your answer.  Be nonjudgmental as you respond.  Write for as long as you can without stopping.

What are the beliefs you need to change to return that story to the library?

Be Brilliant,
