guiltyShe wanted this so badly for her business but couldn’t say “yes”.   Her husband wouldn’t approve and she’d feel guilty that she wasn’t putting her children first.   Boy, could that guilt be overwhelming!  She felt as if there was no way to win.

Every time she got new clients, she’d have dreams about the support she could hire…the new computer she could buy…the updated website she could have and so much more.

But she could never do it.   She looked around and saw that her children needed things…sneakers, lessons, tutors and much more.  How could she deprive them to grow her business?  She didn’t believe it was possible to take care of them and to take care of herself, too.

This is a story I’ve heard from a lot of entrepreneurs.  They have this amazing passion and gift and want to help so many people, but they’re stopped by the lack of money.  They need money to grow their business. You want to invest but you’re unsure that you’ll have the income that you need to keep it up.  You remember that old saying “which came first, the chicken or the egg?”.   You believe you’re caught in a trap.

They blame the lack of money for keeping them stuck.  (Sound familiar?)  Do you do that, too?

The truth is – you are responsible and the reason you are stuck.  Don’t get mad at me for telling you the truth.  You need to know this so you can change things.

Once you start bringing in more consistent income you can plan and grow your business to where you need to go. Once you start bringing in more consistent income, you will start having more confidence and make better decisions.  Otherwise, it can be difficult – if not, impossible.

Here are a few tips to help you start to change things so you can say “yes” to what you need yeswant (and feel really good about it!) :

1)   Have a separate savings account where you put a percentage of all of your earnings into it.  That way you’ll always have money when you need it.  (You’ll be surprised at how fast it grows!)

2)  Look at what you’re spending your money on in your business.  Everything should be for a resource or tool that will help you grow your business.  Understand that when you invest in your business, the idea behind that is that resource will help you generate more revenue.
