Summer has officially began and it’s so exciting. My favorite time of year, as summer symbolizes: picnics, cookouts, beaches, hiking, biking and all sorts of other fun activities. Unfortunately, summer can also kill a solopreneur’s business (no matter how old your business it).

Interestingly, I often get lots of opportunities in summer, since my book writing class ends in June and many people want editing afterwards. I also taught a book writing class over the summer last summer.
So, my summer challenge is letting go of making money by working really hard and instead trusting that I can make money without working so hard–like through my self-study programs.
I’m also experimenting with having a very talented colleague teach my award winning Bring Your Book to Life Program this summer. That’s a stretch–to let go and trust more.
Which is why I signed up for your June course, Kate. I need to let go of this belief that has gotten me out of balance with my life and really enjoy this beautiful summer. And it’s working already. Today, I spent most of the day playing with my five year old and enjoying two different beaches. Lots of time in nature, climbing rocks and appreciating. So, that’s what I want my summer to be like–with money coming in and also continuing to help people, but in a different way!
And I know your course is going to help me make that happen.
This has been a huge challenge for me and I am so delighted that your June Course is addressing this summertime dilemma. Thanks Kate. Can’t wait to get started with you in 2 weeks!
So looking forward to this, Christopher 🙂
Good points about not stopping efforts in summer! Another point is that if nobody is around, and you are the one “making noise” you are more likely to be remembered when people ARE ready to jump back in.
Great observation Laurie … I agree completely! And, with Kate’s help, I intend to stay motivated ALL year, not just when the fruit is ripe so to speak. Thanks.
