This past month, I’ve been to so many events where I saw entrepreneurs repeatedly make the same mistakes. Ultimately, that is taking them off the fast path to success. Over and over again!
These entrepreneurs complain, get frustrated, disappointed and even angry that they’re not having the results that they want.
Lack of focus is their big mistake. And not just “lack of focus” but lack of focus on what’s most important.
Here’s what they’re doing which is sidetracking their success:
1) Signing up for programs “hoping” that will give them the results they want when nothing else has. Entrepreneurs could build castles with all of the “shelf help” they have.
2) Give up quickly when they’re not getting the results they want. Remember that old expression: “A quitter never wins and a winner never quits.” ~ Napolean Hill.
3) Get involved with the fun, cool stuff instead of taking care of things to build a base business for themselves. Without taking the time to build a foundation for your business, you will never have consistent income.
There’s one common denominator in this issue and that’s taking a good look in the mirror to see what they’re doing, what they need to change and where they’re blocked.
Here’s my first suggestion with how to deal with the above 3.
1) Take a look at the programs you sign up for and ask yourself why you aren’t getting the results you want? What do you own in the lack of results?
2) With multi-tasking and busy lives, it’s easy to give up on something when you see you’re not getting the results you want. Perhaps, you want to ask yourself these questions:
- What are your expectations and are they realistic?
- Do you have the right resources to get you the results you want?
- Are you committed to getting those results?
3) Have you taken the time to build the foundation in your business? Do you have a coach to help you do that? Do you have your marketing plan created for the year? Have you mapped out your financial goal and how you are going to get there?
Spend a few minutes answering those questions. As you can see, it’s really up to you. You are 100% responsible for your success and your failure.
Bottom line, it’s how you show up in the world. “How you do anything is how you do everything” ~ T. Harv Eker. But, before you start to label analyze yourself, realize that awareness is the first step, but the most important step is taking action.

I agree. We often make the same mistakes in business and it is a good thing to take a step back and think about what programs you have been getting into and if they are really helpful to you. Also you should never be a quitter, life is hard but one should be determined and have patience to reach the goals you have aimed for. Thanks for the great post.
Thank you for your comments, Lynne 🙂
