The three top reasons for successful businesses to write a book are: (1) to use as a network marketing tool; (2) to introduce what you do; and (3) to promote yourself as an expert.

Using a book as a network marketing tool allows you to stand out from the crowd. Because unlike business cards, books are not so easily thrown out, people tend to keep them around. They often end up floating around the office, which works well for marketing purposes! This book can also be used as an e-book to entice people to join your mailing list.

How do you introduce what you do now? You may have a variety of spiels and maybe even a brochure or two, but how much more impressive it would be to let your client or customer know you have a book that addresses his ìspecificî problem. You can have more than one book, but each book needs to address one specific problem. Charge a nominal fee, such as $5, so that the customer or client understands there is a value to what you are saying. Usually, the client is so blown away that youíve addressed their problem, they hire you on the spot. Make sure the quality of the content is good, as well.

It isnít always easy to climb to the top of your field. There is some stiff competition to overcome. However, one way to stand out is to be a book author. While the previous types of books were ones where we wanted to limit the content so as not to give away the store, in this book you want to go deep into leveraging your core knowledge. Giving your readers what you give to clients and customers every day: the meaty breadth of your signature program. This book should be 80 to 300 pages and sell for $20.

These three different book types help your business grow, remember that delivering quality content is important in each of these.
