Are You Planning For the Boom? Economic Forecast From the Experts

There is optimism in our economic forecast and now is the time to plan for it.

Here’s a recent presentation from Eric Rosengren, President of the Boston Federal Reserve Bank (thank you to the Newton-Needham Chamber).

Here are a few critical take-ways for the significant growth expected to take place over the next two years:

If you’re a business owner/manager:

• Make sure you get your hiring in place, as it will be a tight labor market. Take the appropriate action to get more competitive to hired and keep the “right people,” so you’ll want to be reviewing your job ladder, benefits package, and key values/ethics of your company

• Have a consistent and steady plan to strengthen your foundation to support all upcoming growth

• What is your forecast for the next two years and beyond? What risks are you willing to take?

If you’re employed:

• Do a double-check to ensure you’re in the “right place” with the upcoming tight labor market. Pretty soon, just like the housing market, you will be in demand, so make sure you have what you need to be successful and happy.

• Take the time and space now to connect with others in your industry or industries of interest.

• Are you an avid learner? Now is a great time to learn about other topics (related and not related) to your current industry.
