Flip-flops and sunshine make me so happy. I’ve been waiting for the summer to hit Boston and it’s
been well worth the wait.
The days have been glorious.
I know a lot of you have vacations planned. Whether it’s to resorts, islands, other areas of the country, and even to foreign countries.
Vacations are awesome. Vacations are important.
The BIG problem that entrepreneurs have is their re-entry back into work after being away.
After all, who wants to check emails and listen to old voicemails after having fun for a week? However, if you handle this wrong, you’ll spend several weeks just trying to get your groove back and lose lots of potential income during that time.
Here are a few of my favorite tips to make vacation time better for entrepreneurs:
- Set an “out of office” message. I can’t even begin to tell you how many people don’t bother doing that. When your (potential) clients contact you and don’t hear back, they may move on.
- Have coverage for your emails while you’re away. Have a team member respond to your emails. Even if just to acknowledge that the other person’s email was received. That does wonders for your client relationships.
- Schedule an appointment (either virtual or out of the office) for your first afternoon back. That will help you jump back into the swing of things while getting your focus back.
- Lastly, do your best to disconnect while you’re away and enjoy your time off!
Be Brilliant,
Kate
