One of the things I was taught, was that the harder you work, the more money you make.

Perhaps, you were taught something similar?

The problem is that belief isn’t true (anymore).  It’s a whole new world out there and working hard isn’t the answer to increasing your financial abundance.   I’m not saying you can sit around and eat bonbons all day and have money fly down from the ceiling.   Rather, that working hard is only a small piece of the success formula.

Mindset is everything. 

If you knew how much your money story was affecting your (lack of) income, you would return that old story to the library and get a new one.  You would do that so fast, your head would spin.

Most people aren’t aware how much their money story is playing a part in their income.  And, even more so, more people aren’t even aware of most of their money stories.

That’s what will keep you stuck.  No matter how hard you work!

What you need to know about your money story is that it impacts you every day and in every way.  You live your life based on that story being the truth.

In other words, if you believe that money is scarce.  You will hold on to your money very tightly.  All of your decisions and actions will be based on that belief.

Here are 3 important questions to ask yourself if you’re ready to change your old story.

1. Fill in the blank (and put as many answers as you’d like without any judgement).  Money is…    

2. My experience with money growing up was…. 

3. What is your money story today? 
4. [Bonus Question] How much would your income need to increase by for you to be financially free?

Make sure you give yourself some time and space to answer these questions.

Awareness is the first key.  Take a look at your answers for each question without judgement.  Do any of the answers surprise you?

What I have found from my experience with coaching is that often, we’re able to uncover that first layer and get the initial answers.  But, where we’re really stuck is the layer below.  It’s an area that we aren’t even aware of and quite possibly don’t even pay any attention to.   That’s when you need to have an expert (someone like me) help you uncover what your story really is and then make that change to what you really, really desire.

Understand, that everything you do, act and how you show up is based on your story.  Once you change your story, everything changes.   That’s what I’ve experienced.  That’s what my clients have experienced.

So, whether you work with me or someone else, return your old story to the library and get a new one.  It’s time.
