Did you know that your results are based on your actions? And, your actions are based on your self-image?
It’s true. Think about it.
When you’re about to take action, don’t you usually think about what you’re capable of and then decide to do it?
In other words, if you believe you can, you’ll move forward.
If you believe you can’t, you’ll retreat or stop.
Right?
That is very common for most people to do. The problem is, that it limits your success and keeps you stuck, playing a small game.
The only way to get different results, is to do something different. That means to believe that you are capable of so much more.
Recently, I sponsored an event where an attendee came up to me and commented that she was so happy to see me there, especially after what had happened. When I asked what she was referring to, she mentioned a small technical glitch that had taken place ages ago. She meant it as a compliment. Truthfully, I didn’t even remember it.
But, it was a huge “aha” for me as to why she was playing so small. She was letting glitches stop her from showing up in her BRILLIANCE. While I didn’t even give it a second thought.
Now, before you get all huffy-puffy, realize that I’ve worked very closely with my coaches to be able to move past this stuff. Also, I was brought up with different beliefs than she was. That means she will let those beliefs stop her, whereas I wouldn’t.
So, the big question for you is where are you letting your beliefs stop you from taking action to play a much bigger game. Remember, we were all brought up with different beliefs and those beliefs effect our self-image.
Here’s an action step for you.
For one day, play the “pretend” game. Pretend that you are all you are meant to be.
How do you act differently?
- How do you talk differently?
- How do you look/dress differently?
- How do you spend your time differently?
- How are your decisions different?
At the end of the day, take time and reflect what you have observed about yourself. Did you like yourself and how you were acting? Were you uncomfortable?
Remember, your results are based on your actions. Your actions are based on your self image.
Want different results? It’s time to change your self image.
Be Brilliant,
Kate
