How much does your phone weigh?
My iPhone 6 weights 4.56 ounces. The average woman’s purse weighs 4.5
pounds! These are things that I carry around all day with me.
However, on a forum recently, someone posted that her phone was too heavy. She wasn’t referring to her type of phone…whether is was an Iphone or Samsung. What she was referring to was her resistance to making sales calls. She wrote it half in jest and half seriously.
What about you? Is your phone heavy, too?
When you look at your phone does it seem friendly or does it feel like the enemy?
The reason this question is so important for every entrepreneur to answer, is that the only way your business grows is through sales. No sales – no business growth- no money. No money coming in – no business. You have a hobby. It’s a very simple formula. However, and this is a biggie, most entrepreneurs resist making calls which means they never make a lot of money.
The most important action any entrepreneur can take is to makes sales.
Yet, the word “sales” is often considered a dirty word. A negative. How interesting that the one action that can grow your business faster than any other action, has a negative connotation.
These days, where so many entrepreneurs do have virtual businesses, a large percentage of sales is done over the phone. If you don’t make sales calls, you won’t get new clients/customers. If you don’t get new clients/customers then you won’t make money. If you don’t make money, you won’t be able to pay your bills or do the things that you’re really passionate about.
So, what are you most passionate about?
I want to give you a really big tip to make it easier for you to make those phone calls. And, to enjoy it!
Right now, spend 5 minutes and write down at least 5 things that you are really passionate about and want to have in your life. The top of my list is always vacation and travel. Maybe yours is financial freedom?
Now, every time you look at your phone and think it’s too heavy, I want you to shift your mindset and think about what is on your list. Now, look at your phone. I’ll bet it seems a lot friendlier than it did in the past.
