The fastest path to cash, in my experience, is through the sales conversation. Yet, this is the place that most 11973794_sentrepreneurs avoid. They’ll think of a hundred things they’d rather do than make a call…laundry, housecleaning, paying bills…

Typically, the reason for that is that the calls you’re making aren’t going well so naturally you don’t want to make more…right? That makes sense to you. However, here’s where you’re going wrong.

I’ve got 3 tips for you to help you turn around your success rate.

 

  1. Don’t have distractions and don’t let the person you’re talking to have distractions either. If it’s over the phone, make sure that person is in a nice, quiet place and not driving, cooking dinner or watching their kids.   A lot of entrepreneurs try to have these conversations while meeting for coffee – BIG mistake!

 

  1. Talk from your heart. I don’t care what you’re selling. Talk from your heart. If you go into the conversation with a preconceived notion of what the person must buy, you’ll be sorely disappointed. The person on the other end will most likely feel they are being “pitched to” and rarely will they say “yes”.

 

  1. Be present on the call. Focus in on what the person is saying to you. Really listen. Give that person the gift of being heard. That’s the best gift you can give someone.

 

The stronger a connection you can create, the more likely someone will want to work with you. That’s how it works.

 

You’ve got to be so passionate and excited about helping that other person. That’s how it works.
