I hear over and over again from entrepreneurs that they wish their success was happening faster. Sound familiar? I know we’re all a bit impatient, and want to get there sooner rather than later.
Recently, I attended a networking event and met a woman who was complaining of just this. She talked about all that she was doing, and all the action she was taking trying to get more clients. Yet the money wasn’t coming in fast enough for her. I am sharing her story in the hope it helps you accelerate your success.
It was first thing in the morning, and she was already complaining that there would be nothing for her to eat at the luncheon. She was a vegetarian and had pre-determined that the offerings from the buffet wouldn’t work for her.
I was starting to feel bad for her that she wouldn’t get much to eat at lunch, after all the venue was known for having delicious food. But, as I observed her while we were eating, she made 2 trips through the buffet line and both times her plate was full. Really full. Then she got dessert. Even, a second dessert. This woman was clearly not going hungry.
Think about how many times you have “decided” that something was not going to work out for you. Perhaps, you felt you would be slighted or not get what you wanted. The thought could have absolutely nothing to do with your business, or so you believe.
Here’s where you’re mistaken. Everything is related. And, as that old expression goes “the way you do anything, is the way you do everything”.
Meaning, if you’re complaining about one thing, you’re probably complaining about a lot of things.
The way the Laws of Attraction work is that you attract back into your life what you are giving out. Like attracts like.
It is simply impossible to come from a place of lack, a place of scarcity and then attract abundance. It just doesn’t work that way.
So, here’s this woman complaining about lunch and complaining about her lack of success. It would be virtually impossible for her to attract something different back into her life.
Here’s the question I would have asked her (if she had asked me for help).
Is this really true?
In other words, “is it really true that there would be nothing for you to eat at lunch?”
Do you see where I’m going with this?
She’s in her story of being in scarcity and lack and the only way for her to get different results is to change her story to one that is more pleasing. Once she does that, she’ll have a whole new experience – both personally, and in her business.
My clients have experienced this change as have I by making this shift.
