9713565 - success or failure

This difference in these two words can make all of the difference in your income.

There’s a phrase used quite a bit in the entrepreneurial world.  That’s when you ask someone: “Are you committed or merely interested?”

Every time I hear that phrase, my natural reaction is to say of course, I’m committed.  Why wouldn’t I be?  This is my business and I love what I’m doing.

But, then I stop and think.   I ask myself, if I’m committed, and are all of my actions demonstrating that?

That answer always brings me back to reality.  I realize that, sometimes, yes, my actions are totally aligned with my beliefs.  Other times, they surprise me.  I realize that I’m thinking something is really important to me yet my actions don’t show it.  It’s kind of like being an absentee parent.  You’re able to show photos of your beautiful family, yet you’re disengaged from them.  That’s not a good place to be.

That’s why I take this question so seriously.

I’m suggesting you do the same if your goals are important to you.

Here are 3 keys to double-check that you’re committed:

  1. You wake up every morning excited about this thing (whatever it is).  Yes, you’re actually excited to work on it.  Your energy is upbeat and positive when you think about it.  You even go to sleep thinking about it.  You can’t wait to implement your ideas, strategies and actions.  Whereas, dread and fear will distract and stop you from moving forward.
  1. When you reach a block around this thing, you don’t let it throw you off. In other words, you don’t go down that horrible spiral where you want to pull the covers over your head.  You might feel disappointed or frustrated at hitting a glitch.  However, you know you have resources (mentor, coach, team) to help you maneuver through it.
  1. You stay focused. “The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing” as author Steven Covey wrote about, it’s really easy as an entrepreneur to get off focus.  There’s BSOS (bright shiny object syndrome), FOMO (fear of missing out), IS (imposter syndrome) and many more, including good, old “procrastination”.   What’s your “alphabet” excuse for not staying focused?

Review where you are today.  Are you keeping the main thing, the main thing?  Once you’re able to do this, you’ll find you’re reaching your goals faster, attracting more ideal opportunities and earning more money.  Most importantly, you’ll be happier because you’re focused and on track.

Often, I find that people think that they’re committed but when they look at their results, they must admit, that they’re merely interested.  If that’s you and you’re ready to change, get re-energized and focused, apply for one of the 4 spots open this month for a Money Breakthrough.

Be Brilliant,
