I started my business out of passion. A lot of us did.
As our business grows, often we lose track of what is really important to us. When that happens, we don’t build a business and life that we love.
I believe that there are 3 really important questions that every entrepreneur must ask him or herself and be really, really clear on the answers.
- What do you really, really want?
- Why are you afraid to do what it takes?
- What would your life look like if you do receive all of that?
Here’s what happens. You might have a sense of some of those answers in the very beginning as you start to grow your business. However, as your business grows and changes, so do you.
Things that you might have thought you wanted initially may no longer matter.
Things that didn’t used to matter are now extremely important.
These are probably the most serious questions you can ever ask yourself. Don’t treat them lightly. Give yourself the time and space to honestly answer them.
Don’t be surprised if the answers scare you. They might. That’s not necessarily a bad thing.
For you to grow your business and actually have all of the success that you say you desire, you have to have this clarity. Otherwise, it will never happen for you. You’ll either focus on the wrong things, spend too much energy on things that don’t matter, get sidetracked, go backwards and never end up where you truly want to be.
